Photoshoot strategy

Creating photography that demonstrates a modern shopping experience using the same talent in a variety locations and situations.

Convincing casting

From the start, casting the right talent is critical to portraying the best experience. Particularly when casting couples and families the selection needs to create combinations that provide great in-person chemistry so the best photos can be captured.

Modern styling

To reflect a modern consumer within the photography’s storytelling styling the model’s outfits and environment is key to making the images relatable. When using technology in the photos, it’s also important to use the latest form factors to ensure the images are relevant for as long as possible.

Directing talent

Capturing realistic shopping journeys involves a hybrid style of direction between traditional modeling and acting. Talent needs to feel comfortable going through realistic motions, like an actor, but also maintain expressions that communicate their emotional state at every shutter click, like a model.

Omnichannel approach

Today’s shopping experiences don’t occur in one place. Customers shop whenever and wherever they want, often spanning multiple locations and devices. To tell these stories the photography needs to follow suit — using the same talent across locations and devices to share the holistic experience consumers expect today.

Telling mom’s story

When new mothers are a core demographic it’s key to show how her journey spans the arrival of a newborn. Accomplishing this can be done several ways. One is chronologically following the timeline with shoots before and after birth. Another is waiting until the baby is born and using a faux belly to return a new mother to her pregnant state. Shown here is the faux belly approach, but in the first tile above the chronological approach was used.

Capturing kids & pets

Kids and pets are a part of our lives and including them in photography grounds imagery into real-life situations. But, kids and pets need special attention to ensure they make the photos great. Making great connections with both kids and pets is critical, and having several strategies surrounding toys, treats, and their real-world parents to keep them happy and engaged is a must.
