Trend identification

Through multiple design sprints, trends are uncovered by engaging with a unique set of provocations that help identify underlying signals, which when layered together reveal emerging trends. Nascent real-world examples and directional statistics are paired to round out proof points that provide guidance on how consumers and competitors are changing their behaviors.

Research analysis

By engaging in a thorough survey of recent research across a strategic set of aspects in an industry a robust analysis can be crafted, creating a compelling view of an evolving industry and insight into where competitive advantages can be found.

A series of slides serving as examples of customer journey maps. One shows a simple emotional journey of a customer from vulnerable, through reassured, inspired, and independent, landing on influential. Another examples shows multiple steps of a journey with specific moments called out (for example comparing, evaluating, fulfillment, etc) along an emotional spectrum from happy to sad with the specific moments having different heights along the spectrum. The final example is the most complex with three stages called out above, an emotional journey i the middle with large swings, portions of the map are highlighted with large yellow boxes with areas of focus called out below the highlight pointing to how the journey can be improved in that moment.

Journey mapping

Through a methodical step-by-step examination of customers’ experiences, paired with a deep empathetic view and layered in relevant data, a clear picture of customer friction and delight can be revealed providing a roadmap for where to focus future work.

The last decade of my career has been within in a highly secretive environment. I am not able to share much of my work from this time, but have applied these skills to develop vision and strategy projects that refine customer and employee experiences.
